In the first few centuries the early church took the task of initiating people into the Christian faith very seriously, and in some places the whole process could take up to three years, culminating in baptism.

Here at Melton Mowbray Baptist Church we may not want to delay baptism that long, but we do want to take seriously the task of making disciples and spiritually forming people. Becoming a Christian is not a single decision, but a process, much akin to a journey that begins with a decision to follow Jesus, but continues day in, day out, through the seasons and the years, during the good times and the bad times.

To this end, we seek to provide an opportunity for people, wherever they are on their spiritual journey, to grow and develop through courses and activities. Some of the courses seek to explore the basics of the Christian faith, whilst others seek to help Christians grow in their faith.
