The Community Chaplaincy Team was set up by Melton Mowbray Baptist Church in 2015 and includes members from other churches in the town.
On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings we can be found out and about in the centre of the town and through the markets in our distinctive blue uniforms. If you want to make sure you bump into us we are always in Caffè Nero on a Wednesday morning. We give a listening ear and spiritual support to anyone, whatever their spiritual or religious beliefs.
In addition to our weekly activities we attend special events in the town such as Paint the Town Red and the Victorian Christmas Fayre to provide a helpful presence and at different times throughout the year we have our own special market stall.
"We express God's love and concern by being 'church in the community'. We serve, strengthen and encourage the local community, building trust, understanding and cooperation; sharing our faith in words and actions"
- John Sharpe Chaplaincy Team Leader.
In short we love and support the people and businesses of Melton Mowbray.
Community Chaplaincy Market Stall Christmas 2019
The stall at the town centre street market displayed a Nativity scene to focus attention on the real meaning of Christmas.
Shoppers were invited to write the name of anyone they were missing this Christmas and place it on the Memory Tree.
It was good to share the joy of Christmas with all those who stopped to chat.
